Hey Nightfox,

I've noticed in the last few weeks that if I try to edit quoted text in SlyEdit, things get really wonky.

For example, if I quote a long message, then put my cursor in the middle of a line and start typing, the words that get pushed to the next line don't flow right. Each word will push onto its own line. It's really weird.

I will demonstrate this by quoting your message, and inserting gibberish in the middle of one passage. You will see how the text after the gibberish gets messed up.

I see. I can reproduce that myself, and I agree it's a bit wonky. I'll see if I have time to fix it, although there are other changes in recent versions I might fix first (since those changes are already in there).

IMO you probably shouldn't be editing quote lines too much though. Some forums actually have rules against that (I don't think Dove-Net does though). By editing quoted lines, users could make it look like someone said something different than what they actually said. I'm not really sure why you'd need to be typing additional words into a quote line anyway.. The whole idea of quoting a message is to show what the previous poster said, and editing their quoted text is sort of the opposite of that.

In one of the recent versions of SlyEdit (1.52), I had added an option to
the SlyEdit config file (allowEditQuotELines) that a sysop can toggle to false if they don't want to allow users to edit quote lines.

I do that too, and generally I haven't had a problem doing that with SlyEdit. So I think for now it's okay as-is; I just hadn't put much effort into supporting word wrapping while adding to quote lines because I don't really see that happening very often.
