Hey any of you guys download things?

    Whats your favorite torrent client?
I WAS using qbittorrent but it started acting weird for me. I was getting horrible speeds. I would have to shut it down and rerun it a few times and then it might not work well.

so i've been using picotorrent. it's a real small simple client and works great.

Usually I don't torrent download from home but sometimes when I want something i do it and then shut it off and let my server seed it.

I prefer qBitTorrent for many reasons; easy plugins, web themes, easy to run a server and connect via web on another machine, can text message requests and my qBit server grabs whatever I want - if its a video file auto-adds to my Plex, etc....

Its my favorite - I torrent kinda a lot.

qBittorrent here. no speed issues with it, but the speed is

i dont even know what bit che is. I am on private sites.

pretty sure my problems are not with settings.
i use another client and it works. also i know how torrents work, i ran my own torrent sites and I was a co-admin on a few.

i'm open and connectable. just something weird lately with qbittorrent.

Well - what do you mean? I run qBit both on my machines that I hold in my hands around the house... and as a Proxmox VM thats behind a VPN... I can text msg into the VM and start a .torrent download; and I have it setup to add new .torrent downloads to my Plex.

I think I'm running some PIA [private internet access] qBittorrent docker container.... and then setup that allows me to do the above.

    Whats your favorite torrent client?

Transmission is quite fine, because it can run headless on a server and be managed entirely from a web interface. Ideal for downloading Linux distros in bulk to your NAS and not thinking much about them.

i2psnark is ok but it is only for the i2p network.

yeah aria2 is decent but i'd rather have a decent client for torrent downloading. i should have started out asking people what they use on windows, additionally. rtorrent is the best linux client but I don't use that at home.

Aria2 sounds to me like the sort of thing you have around because you like having some swiss-army-knife just in case. If you want to download some torrent and you happen to have aria2, you use that because you can't get bothered to install more junk in your computer. If you are a dedicated torrenter then you set a dedicated torrent system.

i've use aria2 to get past some types of throttling with youtube and other stuff. in some cases it makes a huuuuuge difference.
