Hi all!
I am a long time D&D'er (started in 1977) and have a group of gamers that ha been playing for 15 years running.
(we are using a game system that is rooted in Steve Jackson's TFT, with hous mods). I'd be interested in getting a group of BBS folk together in a campai maybe 5e or 1e.

My son's gotten into it, apparently there's a site where you can
store your characters and maps, and they play over Discord. They
started doing that before the lockdown, but playing all night long is
a part of the fun - nothing like being a high-school kid, finishing
up around 3 or 4 in the morning and counting your spoils...

sounds possibly like roll20? that's
where most groups tend to play, even
local to each other as at my age you
cant nip over to someone's house for
the best part of a day, and the larger
the group the less likely it is that
everyone can make it at the same time
so it always tends to go to roll20

My older brother used to play D&D. For whatever reason, I never got
into it though. I'd sometimes stay up that late playing multiplayer PC games with people though.

My multiplayer addiction was cooperative multiplayer DOOM. We'd play at work after hours until early morning. While I played Quake/Quake II deathmatches, it didn't compare to going through levels as a team.

That's cool. I haven't had much experience with multiplayer cooperative. M of the time, I'd play deathmatch games. In more recent years, sometimes I'v enjoyed capture the flag games with Unreal Tournament & such.

We play Pathfinder. It runs off enhanced D&D 3.5 rules. We've been playing that over 10 years now. D&D 4.0 was bad, and 5 seems too far out there. Pr to the Covid crap we'd get together once a month. We started around 77 also with the White Box. Fun times.
