UMM, I AM NOT SURE WHY YOU ARE REPLYING TO AN UNRELATED MESSAGE AND
ADDRESSING THIS TO ME. DON'T YOU KNOW
THAT ISN'T HOW WE DO THINGS AROUND HERE?

Hmmm ... is that a rude comment or are you serious? Just in case you're serious I posted to All with Subject"home made smart plug w/voice. musta got some corrupt headers along the way

He's totally fucking with you, was a big thread about replying and quoting which always seems to pop up once a year on these bbs boards.

    Also, you did say:

    rude comments welcome :-P

    Ha. :) See, quoting.

Ya, I figured he was complying with my request for rude comments :-P
At the same time, though, EC did bring it to my attention that the message headers became corrupted :-/ no biggie I suppose :-)

BTW, cool project. I have a couple Pi's lying around maybe I'll look into the Gizmo project, I'm guessing it's less invasive than Google/Alexa boxes?

Thank you. Yes, Gizmo is very much less invasive as Alexa/Google but also the down fall is is that it is not as 'smart' or as responsive. Gizmo kind of does use Google in that it curls a .flac recording to the STT google api for a voice to text response. Gizmo is much easier to add commands to since you do not have to log in their learning center and add abilities.

I can send you the scripts and prerequistes list if you want to give it a try

I posted another (sad little) demo on youtube if you care to see another funny feature of Gizmo (note the poppie pooper ... idiot comment at the end is how Gizmo censors profanity if profanity is disabled :-)
